01 September 2012 is without a doubt a special date for young geologists in Kyiv. On this day that the first in Ukraine geological laboratory class was opened in the secondary school No. 256 of the Obolonskyi district and the training program for studying geology at the school "Depths of Earth, Depths of Soul" was launched. Pupils of 8th grade and teachers of school No. 256 were the main characters of the project.

Australia - Brisbane Congress: Seven Days and an Ocean of Impressions (Echoes of the 34th International Geological Congress)

The Congress took place on 05-10 August 2012 in Brisbane, the capital of the Australian state of Queensland. 6012 delegates from 112 countries took part in the scientific event. The scientific program included 5,181 oral and poster presentations over five days, 24 advanced training seminars and 29 field explorations of Australia and New Zealand, as well as other Pacific islands. Representatives of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists were among the national participants.
