The Ukrainian Association of Geologists promotes the distribution of the research results of its members on the study of the geological structure of the territory of Ukraine and other regions of the world, mineral deposits and the development of new technologies for their exploration and production and the history of geological and geophysical research in their periodicals and international publications of partners and individual scientific collections and monographs.
The Association pays great attention to the preservation of the memory of outstanding geologists and geological schools of Ukraine. The financing of a unique book ‘Essays on the History of Geological Research at Kyiv University’ was a sign of moral support for all who consciously chose geology as their main profession.
On the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding geologist, stratigrapher, paleontologist, and professor of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Olgerd Einor, a biographical book about his life and scientific path and a collection of scientific papers of the International Conference ‘Problems of Stratigraphy of the Coal System’, which was held on April 16-17, 2008, in Kyiv and was dedicated to this anniversary, was issued.
In order to promote mineralogy by familiarizing a wide audience with interesting minerals from different regions of Ukraine, the Organization together with the Ukrainian Mineralogical Society annually produced a mineralogical calendar.
A real gift to future geologists of Ukraine was the publication of popular science books of Rostyslav Furduy ‘The Brother of the Sun and Wind’, published on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Group of companies Nadra.
