The Association considers one of its main tasks to perform education in respect to the environment, dissemination of geological knowledge and raising the prestige of professions related to the study and use of the geological environment. Therefore work in this direction with school and student youth is a priority in the activities of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists and in the educational program of the Tutkovsky Institute.

Since 2001, the Ukrainian Association of Geologists has begun to revive the country's children and youth geological movement. Educational activities for young people are carried out through school geological and environmental education, organization and support of clubs and schools, printing of popular science literature aimed at teenage audiences.

Since 2011, part of the program of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists ‘Tutkovsky Institute’ is an educational project for students and their mentors – ‘Bowels of the Earth, Bowels of the Spirituality’, which is sponsored and informationally supported by the Nadra Group of companies and the TUTKOVSKY International Hub of Natural Resources. The aim of the project is not only to popularize geological science, but also to increase the general knowledge base for schoolchildren, to expand their access to information through the introduction of new curricula with improved approaches to working with the younger generation. Within the framework of this project, the subject ‘Fundamentals of Geology’ is studied in four schools of Kiev.

Within the frames of the educational project for students and their mentors ‘Bowels of the Earth, Bowels of the Spirituality’ many lectures, seminars, scientific conferences and excursions were held. The project participants take an active part in the annual Olympiads of young geologists in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Rivne and other cities. Among schoolchildren there are winners of Olympiads in Geology, winners of competitions, authors of best student scientific works in geology of the Minor Academy of Sciences; students of geological specialties are winners of all-Ukrainian Student Olympiads in Geology, participants of international geological competitions organized by AAPG and EAGE.

Since 2017, the project is coordinated within the framework of the Sikorsky Challenge Innovation Ecosystem on the basis of KPI, the National Technical University of Ukraine named after Igor Sikorsky. There is a purpose to create a competition within the Sikorsky Challenge Ecosystem on the use of the latest technologies in environmental management.

Special attention in the educational program of the Tutkovsky Institute is paid to work with undergraduate and graduate youth. To support gifted, talented and promising youth, the Pavlo Tutkovsky prize was launched.
