The inclusion of young tourists in the team of the Rivne Oblast Station to participate in the VIII All-Russian Open Field Olympiad for young geologists was not accidental. Responsibility for the preparation of young geologists of Ukraine was assumed by the Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization "Ukrainian Association of Geologists" Hafych Liudmyla Feliksivna and Head of the Rivne Branch of the Association Volnenko Serhii Oleksandrovych.

Scientific Conference “Such a Different World of Mineralogy” (dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Academician Ie.K. Lazarenko)

On 19-20 April 2012, a conference "Such a Different World of Mineralogy" dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Academician Ie.K. Lazarenko was held at the initiative of scientists of the Geological Museum of the National Scientific Research Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The event was also joined by the Institute of Geological Sciences of NAS of Ukraine, Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Ore Formation of NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv Branch of Ukrainian Mineralogical Society, State Gemological Center of Ukraine, Faculty of Geology at the Taras Shevchenko National University, Institute of Fundamental Geosciences Ukraine, Geomandry, State Enterprise "Museum of Precious and Decorative Stones". The conference was attended by teachers, manufacturers, scientists from Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Moscow and other cities.
