The monograph by V.M. Matsuy "Evolution of Self-Producing Vegetation and Formation of Fossil Resin Deposits" examines in detail the spatial location of productive amber-bearing horizons, elaborates criteria for their searches, and substantiates a preliminary forecast of the opening of new industrial deposits of amber-succinite in Ukraine.


The presented bitumen-brown coal theory of fossil resins and their general classification is based on historical and genetic features. Discussion issues of scientific terminology and geo-ecological problems of Ukrainian Polesie in connection with the illegal extraction of amber are highlighted.
