The trip was sponsored by the district education department, whose management provided a school bus.
The purpose of the trip was to get acquainted with the crystalline rocks of the Ukrainian Shield, which go to the surface and are being developed by many quarries in Zhytomyr. During the excursion, the students visited the red granite quarries, which are widely known both in Ukraine and abroad. For example, a mausoleum located on Red Square in Moscow was built of these granites.
The most interesting was a visit to the Museum of Gemstone of Ukraine in Khoroshiv (Volodarsk-Volynskyi), where unique specimens of Ukrainian gems that were found on the territory of Volyn pegmatite fields were collected. The unique beauty and enormous size of the crystals, as well as the interesting story of a professional guide, did not leave anyone indifferent. And the jewelry hall with precious minerals aroused the admiration of girls and boys.
The trip was very informative, rich and extremely interesting. In addition to additional knowledge of the geology of Ukraine, the students also enjoyed great aesthetic satisfaction.
Even the rain and snow did not spoil the good mood of the trip participants.
