The paper determines the stages and components of the life cycle of the implementation of geothermal projects.

As a partner of GSEU, the Ukrainian Association of Geologists within the framework of the tasks of Work Package 8 disseminates information regarding some published news and scientific articles in Ukraine on the main thematic areas of the project.

The selected stages differ in duration, volumes and types of work, capital and operating costs and other parameters. For the further evaluation of geothermal projects, it is recommended to distinguish from 4 to 8 main stages. According to the experience of the implementation of geothermal energy projects, the maximum risks and a significant share of investments fall on the first stages of exploration and drilling of wells. They can last from 4 to 7 years and are associated with up to 50% of all necessary investments. A typical geothermal energy project has a life cycle duration of 25 to 50 years of operation, depending on the plant's production capacity and the term of resource availability.
