The CEEGS project was featured in the 22nd edition of the Science Fair in Seville. The event, held from 8-10 May at the Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre (FIBES), showcased 128 exhibitors and involved the collaboration of more than 40 entities, including research centres, universities, companies, and other scientific institutions in Andalusia. More than 7,000 students from 120 schools throughout Andalusia exhibited their science dissemination projects at the Seville Science Fair, involving 800 teachers and attracting 29,000 visitors, making it a successful event in terms of public engagement and activities. The event was inaugurated by the Regional Minister of Education. The main topics of this edition were the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on Goal 13: Climate Action, space science, the commemoration of the International Year of Camelids, and STEAM projects.

During the three days of the event, students, teachers, researchers, and the general public visited the CEEGS project stand, where they received information about its objectives, progress, and relevance in the current context of renewable energy research and environmental sustainability. A video contest about energy storage was also successfully conducted. The CEEGS project was presented in the “Get a Glimpse of Science” micro-conference forum, which was oriented towards young audiences. The talk by Andres Carro focused on the importance of sustainable solutions for renewable energy storage and the role of CEEGS technology. The explanations and activities were successful in demonstrating to a broad audience the interest and opportunities for new energy storage technologies, specifically those developed by CEEGS, as well as highlighting the efforts and support of the European Union in research and development within the Horizon Europe programme for renewable energies and decarbonisation.

Stay tuned for the results of the video contest we organised!
