Organizers of the Conference: State Office of the Museum of Precious and Decorative Stones of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine; Ukrainian Mineralogical Society; PO Ukrainian Association of Geologists; Institute of Geological Sciences of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; M.P. Semenenko Institute of geochemistry, mineralogy and ore formation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Before the start of the conference, a program was formed and a collection of materials (articles) of the conference was published, containing 38 scientific reports on 256 pages. A paper copy is accompanied by a full-color electronic version of the publication.
Representatives of the village authorities also attended the conference. The reports are focused on solving topical scientific and practical problems of the industry: mineral resources of Ukraine and ways of their optimal use; the museum aspect of research and conservation of minerals and rocks; monitoring, protection and use of lands disturbed by mining; development of ‘child’ geology in Ukraine.
Before the beginning of the conference, the participants, having visited two quarries, got acquainted with the geological structure of granite deposits and the production and production of Westerprom LLC and OJSC Leznikovsky Quarry.
After the plenary presentations, the participants of the conference got acquainted with the exposition of the Museum of Precious and Decorative Stones and made an excursion to the dumps of the Volyn deposit of pegmatites. Visiting the quarries gave everyone the opportunity to replenish geological collections.
The participants of the conference expressed their sincere gratitude to the PO Ukrainian Association of Geologists represented by its President P.O. Zagorodnyuk for providing comfortable vehicles for travel Kyiv – Khoroshiv town and back and to geological sites.
The participants of the conference express their special thanks to the director (V. Yakovleva) and to all the staff of the Museum of Precious and Decorative Stones for the wonderful reception and organization of the excursion to the museum and to the dump of the pegmatites of Volyn.
