It should be noted that in comparison with previous years the activity of domestic specialists increased and the activity of foreign colleagues slightly decreased as the last year's conference in Donetsk “Extraction and Use of methane gas: attracting investments” (17-19 September 2009 held by NADRA Concern together with the Ukrainian Association of Geologists and the Tutkovsky Institute within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Specialized Exhibition "Energy Efficiency-2009", as well as the International Investment Forum "Mine Methane. Project Financing in Ukraine”, which took place on 03 June 2010 in Donetsk) managed to attract a lot of foreign guests.
The forum program features 86 reports of Ukrainian and foreign experts. Representatives of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk oblast administrations, the State Commission of Ukraine on Mineral Resources, sectoral and academic sciences, mines, geological state and private enterprises took part in the event. Among the foreign guests were representatives of Germany (the Fraunhofer UMSICHT research institute), Russia (St. Petersburg Mining Institute, the State Research Institute of Mining Geomechanics and Mine Surveying - Intersectoral Research Center, the Coal Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute for Integrated Subsoil Development Problems of RAS), Kazakhstan (D.A. Kunayev Institute of Mining) and others. In general, both the number of reports submitted and their direction indicated that Ukraine's methane-coal industry is gradually “growing”.
Two reports from NADRA Concern CJSC were included in the program of the conference: “Algorithm of preliminary degassing by the method of gravitational deconsolidation of the coal-bearing layer” and “Investigation of influence of mine workings on results of seismic exploration”. Authors of the reports are the members of the Ukrainian Association of Geologists - Lelyk B.I., Mershchii V.V., Kolisnychenko V.H.The prepared works are relevant in terms of development and realization of the latest technologies of preliminary degassing and production of methane, as well as interpretation of the results of seismic exploration works.
