Imre Szilágyi is exploration geologist and petroleum economist with 19 years of oil business management experience. He holds M.Sc. in Geology degree from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest and an MBA (finances) from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Prior to joining the petroleum industry in 1999, Imre had been working in mineral prospecting and the GIS businesses. Between 1999 and 2017 he filled various senior management and advisory positions with the E&P Division of MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Plc. His key positions included MOL’s Exploration Director (2000-2005), Managing Director of MOL Oman (2006-2009) and Chief Geoscientist (2015-2017). Imre currently works as Master Instructor of petroleum geosciences and exploration at his Alma Mater Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. His expertise includes play based exploration, prospect and reserve evaluation, exploration economics, risk and uncertainty evaluation and exploration project portfolio management.
