The conference was divided into the following sections:
- A geological and economic evaluation of deposits of metallic and nonmetallic minerals.
- A geological and economic evaluation of the deposits of combustible minerals.
- Current theoretical and methodological issues of economic geology.
- Environmental problems of exploration.
The conference discussed the status and prospects of development of the mineral resources base (MRB) of Ukraine and the world; global trends and innovative MRB rationalization projects; principles, methods and results of geological and economic assessment of mineral deposits (MD); scientific principles of prospecting and evaluation of industrial types of deposits at the initial stage of their study; study of the material composition of the MD and assessment of the quality of the mineral substance; new results of the study of traditional and non-traditional fields, including man-made ones; environmental problems of extraction and use of mineral resources; the role of MRB in ensuring the sustainable development of Ukraine and the world economy.
Taking into account the reports and analysis of discussions on various issues of economic geology, the main directions of development of economic geology in Ukraine were outlined.
