On 20 April 2012, Sumy hosted the international scientific and practical conference "Energy Efficient Technologies and Equipment for Intensification of Extraction, Processing and Use of Hydrocarbon Energy and Coal" organized by Ukrrosormetal and International Institute of Compressor and Power Engineering MIKEM and JSC VNDIkompressormash. More than 40 scientists and practitioners - representatives of academic institutes of NAS of Ukraine, sectoral research institutes, mines and other organizations of different ownership took part in the event.
Nadra Group was represented by Bohdan Lelyk who made a presentation on "New technologies for the preliminary and concomitant degassing of coal mines". Given the priority of coal in the energy balance of Ukraine, the safety of work in coal mines, especially those that are dangerous by the gas factor, is extremely important. The presented technologies, developed specifically for the mining and geological conditions of Ukraine's coal deposits (Donbas and Lviv-Volyn basins), reflect new approaches to the preliminary (prior to the construction of mines) and concomitant (simultaneously with the operation of operating mines) degassing. The basis of the technology is the gravitational unloading of the carbonaceous mass, which causes the disclosure and improvement of the characteristics of gas-containing reservoirs. The introduction of these technologies into production will be accompanied by the following main effects: social (work in safe mines), energy-saving (production of high-quality methane gas and its use), environmental (reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere) and economic (payback from the first months to two years).
