The experimental program is a joint project of the Ukrainian association of Geologists, Nadra Group and the Education Department of the Obolonskyi District at Kyiv State Administration, so the educational institution of the Obolonskyi District was chosen as the base school for the experiment.
The main strategic objective of the project “Depths of Earth, Depths of Soul” is to form the attitude of the young citizens of Ukraine towards the planet Earth as towards their own home. Work on a pilot project has just started. It is designed for 5 years, and now the programs are being finalized. After all, this program is completely new not only for modern Ukraine but also for other countries of the post-Soviet space. We are sincerely grateful to the leadership of the Education Department of the Obolonskyi District at Kyiv State Administration and personally Iryna Parkhomenko and Oksana Dobrovolska for effective assistance in creating such a program and we hope to expand the geography of the pilot project to other Kyiv schools and secondary schools in the regions of Ukraine. There are real prerequisites for such work.
The title of the experimental project “Depths of Earth, Depths of Soul” is symbolic. After all, indifferent, soulless and poorly educated people will not be able to properly study and explore the Earth and its subsoil, treat them with care and love. To cultivate a sense of responsibility for the environment from a young age, to educate the young people of Ukraine with regard to the planet Earth as their home, the cradle of all humanity, to preserve and rationally use natural resources is a main strategic task of the project “Depths of Earth, Depths of Soul”.
The first in Ukraine geological school laboratory class is named after Rostyslav Serhiiovych Furdui.
