At a high-level event organized by the Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Ukrainian pavilion, the results of modeling the paths of decarbonization and achieving climate neutrality of the Ukrainian economy were presented, along with a set of multifaceted policies and measures for the updated long-term Low-Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) of Ukraine for the period until 2050.
According to the results of comprehensive modeling, achieving climate neutrality by 2050 is quite possible in an economically feasible and socially acceptable way, even taking into account the dramatic consequences of war. The right choice and timely implementation of climate, economic, energy, social policies and measures will avoid negative impacts and receive double dividends from the implementation of the “green” transition.
