The award is presented for significant support to the development of scientific research, the solution of the most important scientific and scientific-technical problems, the implementation of research results into practice, training and education of scientific human resources, as well as for charitable, philanthropic and humanitarian activities in the field of science, education, culture, art and health protection.
Pavlo Zagorodnyuk was awarded the Medal ‘For promoting the development of Ukrainian science’ by Academician-Secretary of the Earth Sciences Department of NAS of Ukraine Oleksandr Ponomarenko.
Attendees at the event noted the personal contribution of Pavlo Zagorodnyuk in the development of Ukrainian science. The Ukrainian Association of Geologists, founded by Pavlo Zagorodnyuk, organized about 100 scientific conferences, in particular on attracting investments into the energy and mineral resources sectors of Ukraine's economy. More than 200 social projects and programs of various levels and duration have been implemented. Geological schools and circles were established in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine, and specialized and popular literature was published.
