LXXXII Scientific Conference of the Polish Geological Society

19-21 September 2013
Ustroń, Poland

Theme for the LXXXII Scientific Conference of the Polish Geological Society will be geological and environmental problems of the Upper Silesia and adjacent areas in the XXI century. The Upper Silesia, due to many years of mineral exploitation, is the most industrialized region in Poland. The Upper Silesian Coal Basin is the largest coal producer in Europe. The geological, industrial, ecological, economical and social processes associated with intensive mineral exploitation, make the area very interesting for many scientific fields, especially related to the Earth sciences.

Presently, in the period intensive exploration and use of energy resources, directions of geological and enviromental research on this area are very important.

We hope to see a large group of scientists to discuss the presented problems.
